Why We Are Updating Our Car Park Signages?
If you have recently visited one of our car parks, you may notice that some of the signs have been updated or replaced. These changes are being made to ensure our sites remain compliant with the Parking Code of Practice’s requirement. The code requires private car park operators to meet updated signage standard by end of 2026.
What is the Parking Code of Practice?
The Private Parking Sector Single Code of Practice sets out standards that private parking operators are expected to follow when managing car parks. It’s purpose is to improve consistency across the industry, promote transparency, and help motorists better understand the terms and conditions that apply when parking on private land.
Why Are We Changing Signages?
The updated signage is being introduced to meet the enhanced requirements of the Code of Practice, which places greater emphasis on clarity, visibility and consistency across the sites.
Key Improvements include:
- Clearer entrance signage to ensure drivers are aware they are entering a private car park with terms and conditions in place.
- More prominent display of parking tariffs, time limits and regulations of car park usage.
- Better readability through better layout, larger text, and stronger colour contrast.
- Consistent signage across each site to reduce confusion for motorists.
- Better placement of signs so terms and conditions can be seen before and after parking.
- Clear identification of the parking operator and relevant accreditation information.
These updates are designed to ensure that important information is easy to see and understand in all conditions, helping motorists make informed decisions before and during their stay.
Our Commitment
For most car park users, the changes will simply make parking information easier to read and understand. So, we are committed to maintaining high standards across all of our car parks. Updating our signage forms part of our ongoing effort to provide a fair, transparent and customer-focused parking experience while meeting industry requirements and best practices.
If you have any questions regarding the new signage or parking arrangements at any of our sites, please do not hesitate to contact us!
