How We Helped “The Hepworth Wakefield” Maximise Its Parking Potential?
Bransby Wilson has extensive experience crafting car park solutions for all types of businesses whether small independent sites, large retail locations, busy town and city centre car parks, or local community facilities across the UK.
This time, we supported the renowned gallery “The Hepworth” in Wakefield, located in the heart of Yorkshire. With increasing visitors, the gallery required a simple yet efficient solution to maintain its high standard.
Gallery’s Background and Needs
The Hepworth Wakefield is a significant cultural landmark, named after Barbara Hepworth, one of the most important artists of the 20th century. The destination attracts a high volume of visitors, particularly during exhibitions, the gallery required a car park operations that reflect its reputation and visitor expectations.
Prior to working with Bransby Wilson, gallery was not satisfied with its previous car park management company, citing a lack of clear communication and operational consistency. Given the busy and customer focused nature of the site, especially during peak exhibition periods, it was essential to ensure a well-managed parking experience at all times.
The gallery aimed to put the right systems in place to maintain high service standards while also generating sustainable revenue. Crucially, this needed to be achieved without appearing overly commercialised ensuring the visitor experience remained at the heart of the operation.
How We Helped
Bransby Wilson began by analysing the site’s specific needs and took the initiative in supplying, managing and administering a paid parking solution tailored to the gallery.
First to support the gallery’s own staff parking requirement, we installed two iPads free of cost and implemented dedicated software, allowing staff to manage an authorised vehicle list directly on-site. Vehicle details can be easily added via the iPads, ensuring staff and occasional authorised users have a clear, controlled system separate from general visitor parking.
To prevent misuse and parking bays available for genuine visitors, we partnered with a private enforcement service provider to enforce the car park. We handled the full administrative side, including ongoing maintenance of the paid parking system such as routine monitoring of parking technologies, payment machines and dedicated customer service experts to advise and help with queries.
Further, the gallery benefitted from improved communication and access to a responsive team of experts, ensuring support was always available when needed.
So, as a result, The Hepworth Wakefield is not benefiting from all improved, well-managed parking service. The gallery is pleased with the outcome, with everything running smoothly and delivering a positive experience for both staff and visitors.
