St Marks Conservative Club in Blackburn is a social venue for drinks and indoor games that caters to various occasions. It’s located on Preston Old Road in Blackburn and is a famous venue for locals to host events. The conservative club’s car park is only for permitted members and customers of the venue, but the car park was facing lots of issues related to unauthorised parking and parking charge notices.
The major issue in the car park was that genuine members/customers of the club started receiving parking charge notices. It was due to lack of proper management and error in keeping the allowed list of members up-to-date. So, wrongfully issued parking charge notices for members had to be cancelled for genuine users, causing lots of confusion.
The inconsistency and lack of a proper system to add every new member/customer to the system for the allowed lists led to members/customers being frustrated. It also impacted the conservative club’s reputation and brand image.
Further, the car park was being misused by unauthorised people and parking space was being occupied followed by revenue loss due to no proper enforcement.
So, the conservative club wanted a seamless and well-managed system that saved them the hassle of cancelling parking charge notices for genuine users of the car park and ensuring space was used by genuine customers only.
We first installed iPads at the car park so that customers visiting the car park could register their vehicle registration numbers.
Next, we set up an online system for conservative clubs and handed credentials and helped understand how it works to the managers of conservative clubs. It helped to monitor and manage the list of allowed vehicles and prevent unauthorised parking. The system gives them full flexibility to manage their allowed list and update it easily whenever they get new members in the club who visit frequently.
With customers entering their vehicle registration number and the club managing the allow list, only unauthorised visitors received parking charge notices, and wrongful ones were not triggered.
To ensure people visiting the nearby landmarks were not engaging in unauthorised parking or misusing the car park, we properly incorporated ANPR enforcement- it meant ANPR cameras were capturing every car’s vehicle registration number. It also contributed to preventing misuse of the car park by unauthorised visitors.
The solutions implemented by Bransby Wilson helped the conservative club organise their allow list and not trigger parking charge notice for the permitted members with an effective system.
Use of iPads and an online portal to manage the allow list helped the club avoid issuing unwanted parking charge notices and cancelling them for their members and customers.
The misuse and unauthorised parking also significantly reduced and prevented the revenue loss. Now, the conservative club benefited from a stable parking system and a better revenue stream achieved via parking.
